Subdued Beat Dance

One of our main goals as an educational center for the performing arts is to provide our students with performance opportunities throughout our community and beyond. Subdued Beat Dance allows dancers to challenge themselves in new ways and also allow dancers to feel like a valuable part of our community through their seasonal performances. Company members will have the option to attend dance conventions in order to further their dance training and experience. Company pieces will also be performed around the community during various events throughout the year.

What is a dance convention/competition?

All groups will be required to attend and compete in two conventions throughout the season. A typical dance convention consists of an entire weekend filled with dance classes taught by world-renowned dancers and choreographers, as well as a competition in which dancers compete dances choreographed by their instructors/guest choreographers. Dancers will have the opportunity to learn challenging choreography in a variety of dance styles with other dancers. Conventions provide dancers an incredible opportunity to learn from new, famous dance professionals and interact with hundreds of other dancers in the state. Every dancer is sure to leave feeling inspired by the incredible experience and knowledge they gain from attending a dance convention!
